About the role

We are seeking an experienced Design Director to lead the creative development and execution of a new brand identity and comprehensive design system. This is a highly conceptual and hands-on role for a senior brand designer who combines exceptional creative craft with the ability to build scalable visual systems for complex organizations. The ideal candidate comes from a top-tier branding agency, brand consultancy, or design studio and has led sophisticated brand identity engagements from initial concept through execution. This person should be equally comfortable developing an iconic visual idea and determining how that identity scales across multiple business units, products, audiences, and touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the creative vision and design direction for a new brand identity and comprehensive design system. Translate brand strategy and positioning into distinctive visual expressions. Develop and evolve logo systems, typography, color, imagery, graphic languages, and brand guidelines. Create scalable masterbrand, sub-brand, and portfolio architecture systems. Establish visual systems that work effectively across digital, physical, marketing, corporate, and other brand touchpoints. Solve complex visual and structural challenges across large-scale B2B organizations. Lead and mentor designers, providing clear creative direction and thoughtful feedback. Partner closely with strategy, account, and client leadership teams throughout the engagement. Present creative concepts, design rationale, and identity systems to senior client stakeholders. Maintain a high level of design craft and consistency from initial concept through final execution. Ensure the resulting brand system is distinctive, scalable, and practical for a complex global organization.
Required Qualifications: 8+ years of branding agency, brand consultancy, or design studio experience. Strong background developing sophisticated brand identities and visual design systems. Portfolio demonstrating exceptional logo and identity design, visual systems, and brand architecture. Experience working with complex B2B brands, including areas such as enterprise technology, software, fintech, industrial technology, professional services, or multi-brand organizations. Ability to work at both the conceptual and systems level, from developing the core creative idea to architecting how the identity scales. Experience developing masterbrand, sub-brand, and portfolio systems. Strong understanding of typography, color, imagery, composition, and visual storytelling. Experience leading designers and providing creative direction. Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to confidently present and sell creative concepts to senior stakeholders. Ability to balance ambitious creative thinking with practical business and organizational requirements.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
