Job Description: SHIPPING & RECEIVING TECHNICIAN, EMPLOYEE OWNED COMPANYComplete receipt verification for purchasing and customer supplied materials; Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Received and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit; Coordinate proper storage of materials; Arrange appropriate packaging for shipping; Administrate computerized Inventory System; Generate shipping documentation; Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions; Monitor freezer temperatures, conducting testing as needed; Send material receipt notifications to customers; Update supplier performance records; Operates forklifts and hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas; Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies; Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations; Performs any other function or responsibility as assigned. Minimum of a high school education or GED and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math. Computer skills including Microsoft Office. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Operation of co-rolling equipment is desirable. Licensed forklift truck operator.
