About the role

Kingfisher Recruiting has been hired to find a Service Manager for Dirty Hooker Diesel in Harbor Beach, MI. The company operates an online and phone-based product catalog and provides services including the assembly, machining, and installation of automotive parts. The Service Manager will lead daily service operations, ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and with strong customer communication.
Responsibilities: Manage repair scheduling, technician assignments, workflow, and repair-bay utilization. Prepare accurate estimates and obtain customer authorization. Keep customers informed about repair status, costs, delays, and completion dates. Monitor work orders, parts availability, aging jobs, quality checks, and deadlines. Lead, coach, and hold technicians and service personnel accountable. Coordinate purchasing, inventory, receiving, returns, and vendor performance. Enforce safety, documentation, workmanship, and quality-control standards. Monitor revenue, margins, labor efficiency, bay utilization, rework, and overtime. Maintain accurate records in Win Works, Google Sheets, Ship Station, and related systems. Identify bottlenecks and improve workflow, quality, and profitability.
Requirements: Three or more years of service management, shop supervision, fleet maintenance, or comparable leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of automotive or diesel repair operations, estimates, work orders, scheduling, and quality control. Experience leading technicians and managing multiple repair bays. Working knowledge of purchasing, inventory, vendor management, and performance metrics. Strong leadership, organization, communication, customer-service, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable using shop-management, spreadsheet, shipping, email, and reporting systems. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
