Role Description: The Communications Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kearney, MO. This role is responsible for developing and executing communication plans that support organizational goals, including drafting and distributing press releases, preparing internal communications, and supporting strategic communications initiatives. Day-to-day activities include writing and editing content for various channels, managing messaging consistency, coordinating with internal stakeholders to gather information, and ensuring timely communication of key updates. The Communications Specialist will also assist with media relations, maintain communication calendars, and track the effectiveness of communication efforts.
Qualifications: Strong Communication and Writing skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and channels. Experience in Press Releases and media outreach, including drafting, editing, and coordinating distribution. Skills in Strategic Communications, including planning and executing communication strategies that align with organizational objectives. Knowledge of Internal Communications, including employee messaging, announcements, and engagement-focused content. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with common office and communication tools (e.g., word processing, presentation software, email and collaboration platforms).Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
