About the role

To reinvigorate a long-standing publication, the part-time AEC Thought Leadership Writer will create provocative and actionable content focused on business insights for leaders in the architecture and engineering industry, working remotely on a contract basis. Key responsibilities Create concise short-form articles and developed feature pieces on business and management topics relevant to design firms Develop thought-leadership articles that challenge conventional wisdom and provide actionable takeaways for executives Research industry topics, pitch original story ideas, and interview subject matter experts to uncover compelling angles Required qualifications Demonstrated writing experience within the AEC industry, particularly with architecture and engineering firms Strong understanding of the business aspects of running an architecture or engineering firm Exceptional thought-leadership and storytelling skills, with the ability to write concise, impactful copy Familiarity with current AEC issues and trends, especially the role of AI in architecture and engineering Journalistic experience or training is strongly preferred
