About the role

Economics Undergraduate Advisor This position is remote and works a set schedule, which includes three evenings/week by default: 10:30am-7:30pm on Tuesdays-Wednesdays-Thursdays, and 8am-5pm on Mondays and Fridays. (Work hours follow Pacific Time.) Occasionally, the hours will shift to attend job-related trainings and meetings. The Department of Economics is an inclusive, ambitious, innovative and large department within the Social Sciences Division. The department offers several options for undergraduate study including multiple bachelor's degrees, combined majors with mathematics and environmental studies, one undergraduate minor and a concentration in addition to a Ph. D. program and professional master's degree program, and is home to approximately 1700 declared and prospective majors. Under the general direction of the Department Undergraduate Programs and Advising Director, the incumbent applies professional concepts to independently provide prescriptive advice on academic policies and procedures for the academic department, including major and minor requirements, and all aspects of course requirements for degree or program completion. They thoughtfully plan student schedules within the constraints of academic course and faculty conflicts, promoting time to degree, and campus guidelines. The budgeted salary is $31.73 - $36.40/hour. Salary is commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience. Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
