About the role
- Support OT&E of MH-60R/S systems, including test design, integrated testing, operational testing, and tactics exercises
- Assist in developing Critical Operational Issues (COIs), the Mission-Based Test Design Framework, test matrices and procedures, and data collection plans, and document them in the Mission-Based Test and Evaluation System (MBTES)
- Draft Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) input and comments, test plan inputs, and Integrated Evaluation Framework (IEF) input per OPTEVFOR policy
- Observe flight and ground test events, brief test participants on event objectives and data requirements, and collect test data
- Perform data reduction and analysis, applying statistical techniques to assess operational effectiveness and suitability
- Assist in developing draft Blue/Gold sheets and test and tactics evaluation reports in OPTEVFOR/VX-1 format
- Interface with Navy leadership, program offices, laboratories, and other stakeholders on test plans and results
- Prepare monthly status reports and trip reports, and attend program review meetings
- Ensure compliance with the DoD 5000 series, OPNAVINST 5000.42 series, SECNAVINST 5000 series, and OPTEVFORINST 3980.2 (OT&E Manual)
- U.S. citizenship
- Current Navy or Marine Corps aviation operations knowledge, with knowledge of or experience with Naval helicopter programs
- Bachelor's degree (STEM preferred) or equivalent operational/T&E experience
- Demonstrated T&E experience such as IEF development, test plan development, test execution, test analysis and reporting, and M&S support
- Strong knowledge of analysis methodologies applied to complex systems evaluation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive projects to successful completion
- Effective communication skills to convey analysis results and recommendations to senior leadership
- Proficiency in technical writing and reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
- 4+ years of military T&E experience 5+ years of MH-60R/MH-60S mission execution as aircrew or maintenance personnel (2+ years at senior enlisted/Department Head level)
- Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) or equivalent warfare qualification
- Prior OPTEVFOR/VX-1 experience or OPTEVFOR training (e.g., OTD Basic Course, MBTES, Blue & Gold Sheet Writing)
- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Foundational T&E Certification
- LocationAir Test and Evaluation Squadron ONE (VX-1), NAS Patuxent River, MDOccasional CONUS and OCONUS travel, including at-sea locations, in support of test events
- Security RequirementsU.S. citizenship required; eligible for Secret clearance at time of award; TS/SCI eligibility preferred (may be required on individual task orders)
