About the role
Ascendo Resources is currently seeking an AR Specialist for a full-time on-site role. Salary range is up to $70,000 with 100% of their medical insurance paid! Do you like being the person who knows exactly where every project stands financially, from the first progress bill to the final lien waiver? Our client is a global engineering company in the logistics and infrastructure space. We're adding a Project AR Specialist to its small, close-knit U.S. accounting team in Queens, NY. This hands-on role sits between project management and finance. You'll own the financial side of active projects and work alongside a global cost controlling team.
What you'll do:
- Track labor, material and subcontractor costs against project budgets
- Prepare project invoices, including AIA billings, and submit them through customer portals
- Make sure revenue recognition matches contract terms and percentage-of-completion
- Manage project compliance: lien waivers, W-9s, insurance certificates and certified payroll
- Run collections and keep AR aging low
- Build project profitability reports and support month-end close, forecasting and cash flow
- What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 5+ years of accounting experience in construction, logistics or infrastructure
- Hands-on project accounting and WIP schedule experience
- Foreign currency experience
- Advanced Excel; QuickBooks Desktop is a plus
