The senior accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing and reviewing account reconciliations, verifying financial records and transactions, and preparing the monthly financial reports. You will also be assisting the controller as needed and respond to information requests by management.To be successful as senior accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger, ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and produce accurate and timely reporting. An outstanding senior accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Roles & ResponsibilitiesManage monthly close and reporting and make as efficient as possibleMaintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.Preparing and reviewing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.Performing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, verifying accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors.Improve processes and controlsHelp with external auditsCollaborate with the AR, AP and TreasuryAssist the Controller with special projects as neededOversee the Concur Expense Reporting and Reimbursement systemManage a portion of the revenue recognition on a monthly and annual basisReview and update close schedule and team responsibilities as needed for highest level of outputMaximize the reporting and potential of the NetSuite Accounting SystemAssist with oversight of customer billing process to make sure we are getting bills out at the earliest possible timeOther tasks as they ariseQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.3-5 years of accounting experience.Public Accounting Experience is a plusExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting and budgeting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Strong numeracy and analytical skills.Good problem-solving and time management skills.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficientlyProficient in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, lookups, etc)Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus but not requiredAbility to work autonomously without being micromanaged and trustworthyThe ability to work in a fast paced team environment$90,000 - $100,000 a yearWhy AHEAD:Through our daily work and internal groups like Moving Women AHEAD and RISE AHEAD, we value and benefit from diversity of people, ideas, experience, and everything in between.We fuel growth by stacking our office with top-notch technologies in a multi-million-dollar lab, by encouraging cross department training and development, sponsoring certifications and credentials for continued learning.USA Employment Benefits include:- Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance- 401(k)- Paid company holidays- Paid time off- Paid parental and caregiver leave- Plus more!
