Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Salary: $75,000-$84,000 base, depending on experience The successful candidate will independently combine space-management expertise with merchandising analytics to build and improve planograms that support stronger assortment decisions and retail performance. This position is well suited for someone with substantial hands-on planogram experience who is ready to take broader ownership of merchandising strategy and grow toward increased responsibility over time.
Work Environment: Primarily corporate office-based with limited local store visits
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Merchandising Planogram Specialist to develop, maintain, and optimize retail planograms using space-management software and merchandising analytics. This is not primarily a field or visual merchandising position. The role is focused on using sales, assortment, and consumer data to make informed decisions around shelf space, product placement, facings, and overall planogram performance. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on planogram development experience with the analytical ability to translate merchandising data into actionable shelf and assortment strategies.
Key Responsibilities: Create, maintain, and optimize planograms using space-management software such as Spaceman, JDA/Blue Yonder, or comparable platforms. Analyze sales, merchandising, demographic, and consumer data to improve product assortment, shelf allocation, facings, and placement. Use tools and data sources such as Excel, Nielsen, Circana, or comparable platforms to identify merchandising opportunities and improve shelf productivity. Translate analytical findings into actionable planogram and assortment recommendations. Evaluate and restructure existing planograms based on performance data, changing business needs, and retail requirements. Partner with Sales, Key Account Managers, merchandising teams, and retail contacts to support merchandising initiatives. Conduct occasional store visits to assess planogram execution, resets, shelf conditions, and merchandising opportunities. Support continuous improvement of merchandising processes, tools, and best practices.
Required Experience & Qualifications: 3-4+ years of hands-on experience creating and managing retail planograms using space-management software. Direct experience with Spaceman, JDA/Blue Yonder, or comparable planogram/space-management platforms. Strong merchandising analytics experience, including using sales and performance data to drive planogram and assortment decisions. Proficiency with Excel and experience working with Nielsen, Circana, or comparable retail/consumer data sources. Demonstrated ownership of planogram creation and optimization, rather than primarily field merchandising, visual merchandising, or planogram execution. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Stable professional track record with demonstrated tenure in prior positions. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.
