Overview: We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel-powered buses. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready, ensuring our drivers and passengers get where they need to go without interruption.
Note: We are currently looking to fill a night shift position (Sun-Thu 5:30pm-2:00am).
Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and coach-related components of over-the-road buses Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and brakes Maintain accurate records of all service work performed Follow all safety procedures and company protocols Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and the maintenance manager regarding vehicle status and repair timelines Stay up to date on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques Qualifications: 2 years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably on buses, trucks, or heavy-duty vehicles Own your own basic shop tools - specialty and shop tools provided Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be able to obtain a CDL – we’ll help cover the cost Must be able to do shift work – including evenings, weekends, and holidays Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, stand for long periods, and work under vehicles ASE certifications preferred Benefits: Guaranteed annual raises — your paycheck grows every year, per the union contract Up to 10% ASE pay boost — earn more for every ASE certification you hold $250 annual tool allowance — plus free insurance on the personal tools you bring to work We cover up to 93% of your health insurance — some plans cost you as little as $25/week Up to 6 weeks of paid time off — increasing with your years of service We keep you safe and equipped — boots, PPE, and safety glasses are on us Free uniforms, cleaned for you — we rent and launder them so you show up fresh every shift Free Greyhound travel nationwide — for you and your travel companions 16 paid training hours every year — we invest in your skills and career growth Union representation — your rights are protected and your voice is heard Compensation Range: USD $31.75 - USD $31.75 /Hr.
