About the role
Growing medical device manufacturer is seeking an experienced Payroll (Paycom) Specialist to support payroll processing and HR-related functions for approximately 100 employees, primarily located in New Jersey. This is a hands-on contract opportunity for a payroll professional who is comfortable managing the full payroll process while also providing support with general HR, administrative, and employee-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and administer bi-monthly payroll for approximately 100 employees using Paycom. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely, including review of hours, overtime, deductions, timekeeping, and payroll adjustments. Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll questions. Maintain accurate employee and payroll records within Paycom. Assist with onboarding, employee documentation, and other HR administrative activities. Provide general HR support as needed, including employee records, reporting, and personnel-related documentation. Assist with benefits administration and other HR processes as needed. Support various administrative projects and day-to-day needs of the HR function. Maintain confidentiality of employee, payroll, and other sensitive company information. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
2–3 years of hands-on payroll experience.2–3 years of experience using Paycom or strong recent experience with the Paycom payroll platform. Experience processing payroll accurately and independently. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information professionally. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional HR Generalist or HR administrative experience. Experience supporting employees in a manufacturing, healthcare, medical device, or other regulated environment. Familiarity with benefits administration, onboarding, employee records, and HR compliance. Experience working in a fast-paced, growing organization.
