Cyrus Knits: Account Executive Job Description Company Profile & Job Summary: Cyrus Knits is a women’s wholesale knitwear company specializing in private-label and branded apparel sold directly to retailers across the country. Founded in 1988, Cyrus Knits has built a strong presence in the women’s apparel market, with products sold in more than 5,000 retail stores nationwide. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Account Executive to join our New York team and help develop and manage a new division within our collections. This role is ideal for a sales professional with established relationships in the wholesale apparel industry who can grow existing accounts, develop new business, and identify opportunities to expand distribution and sales.
Job Title: Account Executive
Location: New York, NY (In-person)
Key Accountabilities: Manage and grow existing wholesale accounts while identifying opportunities to increase sales volume and distribution. Develop new business by prospecting, establishing relationships, and opening new retail accounts. Own the sales process for new accounts, from initial outreach and presentations through onboarding and ongoing account management. Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, retailers, and key business partners. Conduct sales appointments and present seasonal collections to buyers. Partner with buyers to develop assortments and strategically challenge buys to maximize sales opportunities and achieve revenue targets. Analyze account performance, selling reports, and market trends to identify opportunities and drive business. Develop and execute sales strategies designed to achieve company and account-level sales goals. Manage ongoing communication with buyers regarding orders, inventory, shipping, deliveries, and overall account needs. Collaborate with internal design, production, merchandising, and operations teams to support customer needs and ensure successful execution. Partner with customers on marketing and promotional initiatives to increase product visibility and drive sell-through. Monitor the competitive landscape and identify new market, product, and customer opportunities. Take ownership of the growth and development of the new division.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred.3+ years of account management and wholesale sales experience, preferably within women’s apparel, accessories, or a similar market. Existing relationships and buyer connections within the relevant retail market strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop new business and grow wholesale accounts. Strong sales, presentation, and negotiation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to analyze sales data and translate findings into actionable sales strategies. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of a growing business. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to work in person at our New York City office.
