Family Based Immigration Bilingual Paralegal
Location:
Jackson Heights, Queens (additional offices in Manhattan, Union City, Patchogue, and New Jersey).
Job Details:
Full‑time position supporting attorneys in preparing and filing petitions and applications with federal government agencies and Immigration Court. Duties include:
Collect information and documentation from clients
Prepare draft filings to relevant federal, state agencies and Immigration Court
Conduct research of immigration law and procedures
Provide interpretations for attorneys and the Asylum Office
Prepare draft correspondence, memorandum, motion, and Notice of Proposed Evidence
Enter case information into web‑based case management system
Track the status of filings and inform clients of necessary follow‑up
Train support staff on immigration practice and procedures
Maintain confidentiality of client information
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience handling family‑based immigration visa petitions, adjustment of status, consular visa processing, and naturalization
At least 3 years experience preparing waiver applications and writing affidavits
Proficient in Spanish/English (must be able to translate documents from Spanish to English)
Detail‑oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
Punctual and able to work independently under attorney supervision
Prior experience processing I‑130, I‑45s, I‑601a, I‑90, I‑751, N‑400, U‑Certification, VAWA petitions, consular processing, SIJS, PW, I‑601 and 212
