Job Description Job Description I-5 Design Build is seeking a dependable, experienced Commercial Master Electrician to lead and perform electrical work for our commercial design-build construction and manufacturing projects.This is a hands-on role focused primarily on electrical and lighting systems integrated into custom-manufactured architectural features and specialty fabrication projects, including:Custom furnishings with integrated electrical systemsArchitectural lighting installationsSpecialty light fixtures and chandeliersLED-illuminated assemblies and decorative ceiling featuresFood & beverage-related casework and millwork systemsLow-voltage and programmable lighting controlsThe majority of work is performed at our manufacturing facility in Lacey, Washington, with periodic travel to project sites across the country for installation, commissioning, and field support on gaming, hospitality, retail, and entertainment projects.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Electrical Scope LeadershipLead electrical and lighting installation for custom architectural and commercial projectsPerform wiring, terminations, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical and low-voltage systemsEnsure all work complies with NEC requirements, local codes, and project specificationsMaintain high standards for safety, quality, craftsmanship, and professionalismCoordinate with production managers, shop foremen, project managers, and site superintendentsAssist with planning, scheduling, layout, and execution of electrical scopeSupervise, mentor, and support electricians and installation team membersParticipate in field installations and project travel as neededTechnical SkillsRead and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, one-lines, and project specificationsTroubleshoot electrical systems, lighting controls, and low-voltage equipmentWork with architectural lighting systems and specialty fabricated componentsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Licenses & CertificationsActive Washington State Master Electrician LicenseValid driver's license with clean driving recordOSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)Experience & Skills8+ years of commercial electrical experienceStrong working knowledge of NEC and commercial electrical systemsAbility to independently read and execute from construction plans and specificationsExperience with electrical testing equipment including clamp meters, megohmmeters, and power quality analyzersStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesHigh level of accountability, craftsmanship, and attention to detailClear communication skills with crews, vendors, and project leadershipWillingness and ability to travel for project installations as neededPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Multi-state Master Electrician licensing or reciprocal licensing experienceExperience with architectural, theatrical, or decorative lighting systemsExperience with lighting control systems including DMX-512, DALI, and 0-10V controlsExperience installing and wiring LED video walls or display systemsNICET certification or related low-voltage/fire alarm experience is a plusCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS:Compensation$70-$80 per hour, depending on experiencePerformance bonus opportunities based on leadership, teamwork, and project successBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceShort-term and long-term disability coverage401(k) retirement planPaid holidays (7 annually)Paid sick leave in accordance with Washington State lawPaid Time Off1 week PTO after 1 year of employment2 weeks PTO after 2-4 years3 weeks PTO after 5+ yearsThis position is considered a safety-sensitive position for pre-employment drug testing purposes under Washington state law.
