Location: Bethel, CT
Salary: $110,000+ depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite & Field-Based
Travel: Continental U.S., typically less than one week at a time
About the Role:
We are seeking a High Voltage Service Engineer to join a specialized power systems testing team in Bethel, CT. This is a hands-on engineering and field service position supporting the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of high-voltage testing equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical engineering background, enjoys solving technical problems, and is comfortable working independently at customer locations.
Responsibilities:
Install and commission high-voltage AC, DC, and impulse test systems Troubleshoot and repair high-voltage test systems down to the PCB level Diagnose electrical and electronic issues involving industrial controls and power electronics Provide technical support to customers by phone and email Assist with onsite power-system testing Perform maintenance and testing of medium-voltage switchgear Document service activities and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams Travel throughout the continental United States, typically for less than one week at a time
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required 3–5 years of field service, testing, engineering, or related experience preferred Familiarity with high-voltage test equipment and testing techniques Knowledge of PLC and microprocessor-based industrial controls Understanding of power electronics Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects Strong communication and customer-service skills Comfortable with domestic travel Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft OfficeFE or PE license and a Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
