This is a temp-to-hire position.

Full Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their shop team. This position involves MIG welding, oxy-acetylene torch cutting, steel fabrication, and general shop work. You’ll work with equipment including forklifts, ironworkers, grinders, and other basic shop tools. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid welding and fabrication experience who enjoys hands-on shop work and wants the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

MIG weld mild steel and steel grating
Perform oxy-acetylene torch cutting
Make down-hand welds on steel grating
Read drawings and blueprints to assemble and fabricate products
Use an ironworker, grinder, skill saw, and other basic shop tools
Operate a forklift to move materials around the shop
Measure materials accurately using a tape measure and fractional measurements
Assist with packaging, shipping, and receiving as needed
Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications:

MIG welding experience
Be familiar with “down-hand” welds
Oxy-acetylene torch cutting experience strongly preferred
Ability to read basic drawings or blueprints
Comfortable using a tape measure and working with fractional measurements
Experience with grinders, ironworkers, and other basic shop tools
Forklift experience is helpful
Bar grating fabrication experience is a major plus
