About the Opportunity: We're partnering with a healthcare technology VC focused on deploying AI solutions across some of the world's leading healthcare institutions. The company has established relationships with major healthcare systems globally and is building an engineering team to develop and implement AI-powered solutions that improve clinical and operational workflows. This is an opportunity to join at an early stage, work directly with customers, and play a meaningful role in building a rapidly growing business. The company expects to hire 30–50 engineers over the next 12 months.
The Role: We're looking for Forward Deployed Engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, working directly with customers, and building technology that gets used in the real world. Responsibilities: Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications and workflow automation solutions. Work directly with customers to understand operational challenges and technical requirements. Requirements: 2+ years of professional software engineering experience. Strong programming and software development fundamentals. Experience building and deploying production applications. Familiarity with AI/LLMs, APIs, integrations, or workflow automation. Comfortable working directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders. Strong communication, curiosity, and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment. Based in New York City or willing to relocate.
Nice to Have: Healthcare technology or healthcare systems experience. Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Founding Engineer. Experience building AI agents or LLM-powered applications. Experience working at an early-stage startup. Background in cybersecurity, data engineering, or systems integration.
Why Join? Join the initial engineering team of a new, rapidly scaling business. Work with established healthcare institutions across international markets. Own meaningful technical projects from concept through deployment. Gain exposure to both applied AI engineering and customer-facing problem-solving. Opportunity for significant professional growth as the team expands.
Location: New York City preferred, with approximately one week per month working onsite with customers. ApplyThis search is being managed confidentially by Otterbrook. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
