About the Role:
The Company is seeking a Dean for its College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, who will also serve as the Director of the Iowa Agricultural and Home Economics Experiment Station. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with a strong background in the convergent disciplines of the college, including plant and animal sciences, food and human nutrition, agricultural and biosystems engineering, social sciences, life sciences, and natural resources management. The Dean will be responsible for promoting the college to internal and external stakeholders, creating a strategic vision for its research, teaching, and extension activities, and effectively managing a significant budget. The role requires a visionary leader with a passion for improving agriculture and rural communities, the ability to build and sustain collaborations, and excellent communication skills. A doctoral degree and a distinguished record in a relevant field are essential, with a preference for candidates with extensive experience in private fundraising and securing philanthropic support. The ideal candidate for the Dean position at the company's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will have a strong academic background, a vision for the missions of a premier land-grant university, and a proven track record of leadership in a complex organization. They should be adept at working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including commodity groups, and have a deep commitment to the values of the land-grant institution. The role is pivotal in advancing the college's research, teaching, and extension activities, and the Dean will be expected to lead the education of a large number of undergraduate and graduate students. The company is an equal-opportunity employer and is dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
