Position Overview
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing Support team in Austin, TX. This is a hands‑on technical and client‑facing role providing dedicated onsite IT support within one of Atlas Technica’s client environments.
The Systems Engineer will serve as an extension of the Atlas Technica Support team onsite with the client, providing direct support to users, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining client technology environments, and collaborating with Systems Engineers, Senior Systems Engineers, and Client Technology Managers on escalations and technical initiatives.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical troubleshooting skills with excellent communication, professionalism, ownership, and a customer‑first approach. This position is 100% onsite at the assigned client office in Austin.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated onsite IT support and technical assistance to client users
Manage and resolve support requests through the organization’s ticketing system
Troubleshoot end‑user issues involving Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and related technologies
Support Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID
Assist with systems administration across Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, identity, access, and endpoint‑management technologies
Troubleshoot networking, virtualization, security, and infrastructure‑related issues within the assigned client environment
Escalate complex technical issues appropriately and collaborate with other Atlas Technica technical resources through resolution
Maintain accurate ticket notes, technical documentation, procedures, and client‑environment information
Follow Atlas Technica and client security standards, documentation requirements, and strict change‑control procedures
Communicate proactively with users, technical teams, and internal stakeholders regarding issue status, resolution, and follow‑up
Support onsite infrastructure, technology initiatives, and project activities as needed
Requirements:
2+ years of relevant IT experience in desktop support, systems engineering, systems administration, or a related technical environment
Strong end‑user and desktop support experience across Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and common workplace technologies
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Entra ID
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related systems‑administration technologies
Experience supporting endpoint protection or threat‑management solutions such as Sophos or similar platforms
Basic understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, VPN, routing, switching, wireless networking, and firewalls
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide a professional and responsive client experience
Strong troubleshooting, organization, documentation, and problem‑solving skills
