About the role

A New York-based investment manager focused on opportunistic long/short corporate credit is seeking a Credit Analyst with 3+ years of relevant experience. The analyst will work closely with the Portfolio Manager and investment team to identify, evaluate, and monitor investments across U.S. and European corporate credit markets. The role offers meaningful responsibility for idea generation and fundamental research across high-yield bonds, leveraged loans, and other opportunities throughout the capital structure. The firm strongly emphasizes using AI and technology to deepen investment research, improve productivity, and continually refine its investment process.
Key Responsibilities: Generate investment ideas: Source and evaluate long and short opportunities in new issues and secondary markets, including relative value, event-driven, and stressed credit situations. Prioritize research: Screen and prioritize potential investments, identify the issues most likely to determine the outcome, and conduct deeper diligence where the potential return justifies further work. Conduct fundamental research: Develop an independent understanding of companies and industries through financial analysis, management discussions, and other primary research. Apply AI to the research process: Identify and apply practical uses of AI in company research, document analysis, and investment workflows, while independently verifying conclusions and maintaining rigorous analytical standards. Build and maintain financial models: Assess operating performance, cash generation, leverage, liquidity, debt service capacity, and refinancing requirements under a range of scenarios. Analyze capital structures and documentation: Evaluate credit agreements, bond indentures, covenant protections, structural seniority, and potential recoveries, including the implications of restructurings and liability management transactions. Develop actionable investment recommendations: Present clear investment theses supported by valuation, catalysts, expected returns, downside analysis, and key risks. Monitor existing investments: Track financial results, industry developments, market pricing, and company-specific events; update recommendations as circumstances change. Collaborate with the investment team: Contribute to research discussions, challenge assumptions constructively, and help assess relative value and portfolio risks.
Qualifications and Attributes: Three or more years of relevant credit research or investment experience. A background in long/short credit, opportunistic credit, or special situations is required. Strong financial modeling, accounting, valuation, and fundamental credit analysis skills. Strong critical thinking and commercial judgment, with the ability to translate complex financial, legal, and industry information into a clear investment recommendation. Practical familiarity with AI tools and a strong interest in applying them to investment research, with the initiative to experiment, critically assess outputs, and incorporate effective tools into day-to-day work. Experience evaluating high-yield bonds and leveraged loans, with a sound understanding of capital structures and credit documentation. Restructuring and distressed investing experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to independently originate actionable investment ideas, develop differentiated views, and carry recommendations from initial screening through investment and ongoing monitoring. Clear, concise written and verbal communication, including the ability to defend an investment thesis and reassess it when the evidence changes. Professional maturity, resilience, and sound judgment, with a demonstrated ability to navigate challenges, learn from setbacks, and adapt to changing circumstances. Intellectual curiosity, honesty, and accountability, together with the initiative and attention to detail required to contribute effectively within a small investment team. This is a full-time on-site position.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
