Director of Acquisitions – Data Centers
Location: Flexible (Washington, DC preferred)
Travel: ~25%Harper Harrison has been exclusively retained by a rapidly growing data center developer to appoint a Director of Acquisitions. This is a unique opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing data center development opportunities across North America. Rather than managing deals through closing, you'll focus on the front end of the acquisition process, assessing opportunities, cultivating broker relationships, navigating competitive acquisition processes, and progressing transactions through Letter of Intent.
The Role: You'll be responsible for:
  • Evaluating land and development opportunities for data center viability
  • Building and maintaining relationships with brokers, landowners, developers, and key market participants
  • Leading competitive acquisition and auction processes through LOIAssessing key site fundamentals, including power, fiber, zoning, and market dynamics
  • Providing market intelligence and supporting investment recommendations
  • Working closely with Capital Markets, Legal, and Development teams to ensure a seamless transition once deals are under LOITravelling to target markets for broker meetings, site visits, and industry events

  • A solid understanding of power, fiber, entitlement, and site selection fundamentals
  • Experience working on competitive acquisitions or structured sale processes
  • Strong commercial judgement and relationship-building skills
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
