Maintenance JourneymanThe Maintenance Journeyman's role is providing diagnosis, maintenance and repair to the company's machines, equipment and various maintenance related needs, promoting teamwork through behavior, acting in accordance with Altek's Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations defined by management. Pay is DOE.
Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on CNC machines, injection molding equipment, and plant systemsTroubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues on production equipmentDiagnose faults in CNC lathes, mills, and molding machines to minimize downtimeRead and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manualsSupport production by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and line stoppagesInstall, align, and calibrate new or existing equipmentMaintain and repair hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, and cylindersTroubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and basic automation componentsPerform electrical work including wiring, motor controls, VFDs, and control panelsMaintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and work ordersEnsure compliance with safety standards, LOTO procedures, and company policiesIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for equipment reliabilityWork cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teamsMaintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and toolsSupport facility systems such as HVAC, compressors, and building infrastructureParticipate in emergency repairs and off-shift/on-call support as requiredExhibits positive communication and behavior skillsAdapts and modifies as circumstances warrantDemonstrates safe work habitsMaintains a clean, organized work environmentEmbraces Altek's Quality Policy to ensure quality to internal and external customersEmbraces Altek's Vision, Core Values, and expected behaviorsQualifications: High School diploma or GEDAA degree, Apprenticeship/Journeyman Certification preferredMinimum of 5 years in repair and maintenance of manufacturing machines, welding, mechanical and/or electrical preferredCNC Machine repair and maintenance experience preferredIntermediate/Advance knowledge in electronics, electricity, microprocessors, mechanical repair, welding, HVAC, carpentry, blueprint reading, math, maintenance safety, hand and power toolsPhysically able to meet all the requirements of the positionKnowledge and experience with manual machine tools (Bridgeport) Proficient in Word and Excel programsAble to balance multiple projects at one timeTime management and prioritization skillsAble to work under pressure and respond with a sense of urgencyStrong attention to detailEffective problem-solving skillsCertified to train and operate a forklift, scissor lift, crane & rigging
