Here’s your opportunity to help build custom hockey skates designed for performance on the ice! APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Shelby Township, MI looking to add a Hockey Skate Builder to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to assemble, sew, fit, inspect, and finish custom hockey skates according to customer specifications and company quality standards. Keep reading for more details!

Amazing benefit package once hired in permanently Medical, Dental and Vision 401KPaid vacation What your day will look like: Assemble and install hockey skate components, including boots, holders, runners, tongues, eyelets, and related hardware according to production orders and customer specifications. Operate industrial sewing and embroidery equipment while measuring, cutting, aligning, and positioning materials to assemble and finish skate components. Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and production machinery to position, adjust, and finish products for proper fit, function, and performance. Inspect materials, components, and finished hockey skates to ensure they meet quality standards, identify assembly or quality concerns, and make necessary adjustments. Meet production and efficiency goals while maintaining quality craftsmanship, rotating between workstations, completing required documentation, and assisting with special projects or prototype builds as needed.
What we are looking for:
Previous manufacturing, assembly, sewing, hand tool, or custom-built product experience is preferred but not required. Industrial sewing or embroidery experience is a plus. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and learn new manufacturing processes. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality products. Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining dependable attendance and adapting to changing production needs.
