Contract Strategy Sr. Manager Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) supports the infrastructure behind Microsoft cloud services. The Contract Strategy Sr. Manager is an individual-contributor SME who supports the Global Contract Management function in shaping Microsoft's global alternative strategic contracting and commercial models for EPC delivery. In support of the Central EPC GCM group, the role translates MSFT design and construction requirements into partnering-based contract structures and the aligned commercial, cost, and funding frameworks, partnering with CELA, Finance, and Audit and Compliance, to secure global partner capacity, enable early contractor involvement and advance funding, accelerate speed to market, and protect Microsoft's business interests. Responsibilities: Draft and develop alternative forms of strategic contracting models in partnership with EPC Central Leadership, CELA and Finance: Partnering, IPD, PMC / Owner Representative, Multiple Prime, GC1 and GC2, Shells, AE LTAs, Cx LTAs, and SS LSTK.Serve as the Design and Construction SME, translating MSFT requirements into contracting structures that let EPC engage global partners, secure capacity, and protect MSFT business interests. Develop partner-focused, cross-regional framework commercial structures that align with the GC, AE, Cx, and Shells strategic partnering models and the scope allocation model. Enable Early Contractor Involvement and timely project funding, working with Finance to socialize evolving partnership-based commercial models and secure advance funding that de-risks execution and speeds time to market. Interface with Audit and Compliance to align on new speed-to-market project execution work processes. Keep the contracting model and its commercial and cost structure internally consistent on risk allocation and price, so the models the Senior Director sponsors are commercially sound and durable. Support the Global Contract Management function by embedding sound contract strategy principles into every model and maintaining alignment across regions. Applies advanced data analysis and dashboard tools to monitor program performance and inform strategic decision-making. Leads identification and resolution of anomalies across projects. Identifies and develops important metrics to communicate trends, insights, and performance drivers to stakeholders. Leads identification of process improvement opportunities and drives the implementation of solutions using established and emerging methodologies. Leads root cause analysis and synthesizes findings to inform team-wide best practices and continuous improvement efforts. Leads identification of operational risks across complex or cross-functional programs and partners with stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation strategies. Drives documentation of risk scenarios and formalizes response protocols to support organizational readiness and response efforts. Leads coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners to enable successful program delivery and resolve complex or cross-functional issues. Drives cross-team collaboration and facilitates strategic working sessions to ensure sustained alignment and progress across teams. Manages supplier performance and compliance for complex or critical suppliers, ensuring adherence to standards and expectations. Leads issue resolution and contributes to improvement planning by collaborating with cross-functional teams. Monitors supplier KPIs and drives corrective actions to address gaps and enhance performance. Leads integrated supply chain activities by aligning demand, supply, and logistics functions to optimize cost, service, and inventory performance. Applies advanced tools and analytics to ensure business objectives and customer expectations are met. Leads compliance efforts with environmental and regulatory standards through planning and reporting activities across multiple programs or functions. Ensures required documentation is submitted and reviewed during checkpoints to support broader compliance objectives. Embody Microsoft's Culture and Values.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in end-to-end supply chain processes (e.g., planning, sourcing, logistics, fulfillment) and working across functions to deliver program outcomes OR Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in end-to-end supply chain processes (e.g., planning, sourcing, logistics, fulfillment) and working across functions to deliver program outcomes OR equivalent experience.
Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in end-to-end supply chain processes (e.g., planning, sourcing, logistics, fulfillment) and working across functions to deliver program outcomes OR Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years experience in end-to-end supply chain processes (e.g., planning, sourcing, logistics, fulfillment) and working across functions to deliver program outcomes OR equivalent experience. Certification in Six Sigma.
