The Opportunity:
KAP is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead and develop our business development organization while driving sustainable growth across our target markets. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for building the people, processes, systems, and relationships necessary to support a scalable, high‑performing business development organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong industry relationships and a deep understanding of the Petrochemical, LNG, Data Center, Power Generation, New Construction, and broader industrial markets. This position offers the unique opportunity to build and shape KAP’s business development organization, including its processes, tools, metrics, account strategies, and team structure, while helping position the company for long‑term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development Leadership Lead, manage, and develop KAP’s Business Development team. Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives. Build and maintain relationships with key clients, EPCs, contractors, engineering firms, and industry partners. Strengthen KAP’s reputation as a trusted long‑term partner. Sales Process & Business Development Infrastructure Assess and improve existing business development processes. Lead CRM utilization and process management. Establish pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking practices. Develop sales metrics and performance reporting. Establish a seamless handoff process from Business Development to Operations. Team Leadership & Development Establish clear expectations and performance standards. Coach, mentor, and develop team members. Conduct regular performance and pipeline reviews. Assist with recruiting and onboarding future personnel. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Market & Account Development PetrochemicalLNGData Centers Power Generation New Construction Industrial Manufacturing Energy Infrastructure Client Relationship Management Develop and strengthen relationships with key client stakeholders. Maintain engagement with strategic accounts. Participate in executive-level meetings and business reviews. Work closely with Operations to ensure client satisfaction. Forecasting & Reporting Maintain an accurate sales pipeline. Develop reliable sales and revenue forecasts. Provide regular reporting to executive leadership.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive experience in Business Development, Sales, or related commercial leadership roles. Experience leading and developing business development or sales teams. Significant experience within industrial, construction, engineering, project services, staffing, or related industries. Established relationships within Petrochemical, LNG, Data Center, Power Generation, New Construction, or related markets. Proficiency with CRM systems, pipeline management, sales forecasting, and performance reporting. Ability to work full‑time from KAP’s Deer Park office.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Director of Business Development, Director of Sales, Business Development Manager, or similar leadership role. Experience selling project controls, engineering, construction, staffing, professional services, or related services. Experience building or restructuring a business development organization during a period of growth. Experience implementing CRM platforms and sales management processes.
