About the role
- Clean, maintain, and care for floors throughout the facility
- Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, buff, and refinish floors as needed
- Operate floor care equipment safely and properly
- Maintain floors in resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, common areas, and other assigned spaces
- Follow proper cleaning, sanitation, and infection control procedures
- Use cleaning products and equipment according to manufacturer and facility guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Identify and report damaged flooring or other environmental concerns to management
- Assist the housekeeping department with cleaning duties when needed
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks as assigned
- Help with minor repairs and upkeep of the facility when appropriate
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, or supplies as needed
- Maintain a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff
- Follow all facility safety and infection prevention policies
- Work cooperatively with nursing, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Previous floor care, housekeeping, environmental services, maintenance, or related experience preferred
- Experience in a nursing home, healthcare, hotel, or commercial setting is a plus
- Knowledge of floor care equipment and cleaning procedures preferred
- Basic maintenance or repair experience is a plus
- Reliable, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with residents and staff
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
