Job Description
Duties:
Perform detailed inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of avionics systems using schematics, technical drawings, and CAD software. Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting avionics performance and implement effective solutions. Utilize specialized industrial tools, power tools, torque wrenches, soldering equipment, calipers, micrometers, ohmmeters, ammeters, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to execute precise repairs and assemblies. Interpret technical drawings and schematics related to aircraft electrical and electronic systems to guide troubleshooting and repairs. Maintain compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 quality management system requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).Engage in aircraft maintenance tasks including mechanical systems repair, sheet metal fabrication, welding, soldering, and the use of hand tools for assembly or disassembly of components. Support flight line maintenance operations by performing scheduled inspections and urgent repairs on avionics equipment to ensure aircraft readiness. Document all maintenance activities accurately within Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for traceability and compliance.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in aviation maintenance with a focus on avionics systems; military aviation experience is highly desirable. Strong electrical experience with the ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and engineering troubleshooting procedures. Proficiency with CAD software such as CATIA and AutoCAD for design interpretation and modifications. Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes including sheet metal work, fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers. Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and regulatory requirements including FAR Part 145 or equivalent. Knowledge of mechanical systems repair related to aircraft airframes or vehicle maintenance is a plus. Ability to operate heavy lifting equipment safely along with specialized industrial tools for assembly or repair tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to perform engineering troubleshooting efficiently under pressure. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical expertise to diagnose complex avionics issues accurately.
