Reports To: Assistant Superintendent - Personnel ServicesEMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possiblePRIMARY PURPOSE:To operate a multi-line switchboard to relay incoming calls, welcome visitors, and serve as a positive public relations advocate for the school district.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalentSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Exhibit effective working relationships with staff and school community. Have a service-oriented personality Effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills Bilingual preferred; not requiredEXPERIENCE:NoneMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Operate a multi-line switchboard and direct calls to specific personnel. Handle telephone calls in a polite and informative manner Greet visitors Respond to telephone inquires regarding school programs and activities Give directions to visitors, clients, and school personnel Perform other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:NoneWORKING CONDITIONS:Mental Demands: Reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Writing simple correspondence Effectively presenting information in one-on-one to clients, guests, and employees of the school district Physical demands/environmental factors: Prolonged sitting, talking, listening Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms Moderate noise level in work environment The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills that may be required.
