Your Role: As a Zebra Architectural Job Captain, you will review and coordinate architectural drawing sets prepared by our production teams, using Bluebeam to provide clear markups and direction for CAD and Revit updates. You will work on multiple projects in a collaborative team environment, with a focus on building and accessibility code compliance, technical detailing, and coordination with engineers and other consultants. Familiarity with the requirements of different jurisdictions is important. The role includes reviewing design layouts, occupancy studies, plans, details, specifications and calculations, particularly for retail and restaurant projects. You will help identify and resolve issues throughout the drawing and permitting process. This is primarily a drawing review and coordination role rather than a drafting position.
Key Responsibilities: · Maintain a close working relationship with the designated Architect and/or Program Manager· Review CAD and Revit drawing sets and provide clear, coordinated Bluebeam markups to production teams· Review and mark up architectural details related to retail and restaurant work· Identify and resolve technical, code and design issues with teammates to produce constructible solutions· Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP and other engineering disciplines· Review designs for compliance with applicable building and accessibility codes· Be familiar with standard industry practices and procedures for US project delivery· Effectively communicate and coordinate with clients, contractors and consultants· Prioritize and manage assignments across multiple projects· Prepare formal submittals to Clients, Landlords and Government Agencies· Lead the plan review and permitting process for assigned projects· Follow zebra best practices and the zebra QAQC process
Qualifications: · Professional degree in Architecture· NCARB AXP participants encouraged to apply· 3+ years of full-time architectural experience is a minimum requirement· Strong knowledge of building and accessibility codes and conventional architectural detailing· Experience reviewing and coordinating architectural and engineering drawing sets· Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD required· Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite required; experience with Smartsheet and Sketch Up preferred· Ability to work from home and in the office· Ability to travel domestically and internationally
