What will I do as the Director of Life Enrichment with The Wesley Community? The primary purpose of The Director of Life Enrichment is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Life Enrichment Department, including oversight of the Spiritual Care Coordinator role, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that an on-going program of activities designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive care plan, the interests and the physical, mental, spiritual and psychosocial well-being of each resident. Additional responsibilities required include: Working closely with Therapy, Nursing and MDS to provide Occupational Therapy plan of treatments and modalities per physician orders. Document resident progress toward occupational therapy goals. Maintain current and professional knowledge of Occupational Therapy practices within acceptable professional standards. Finalize all activity calendars. Oversee completion of the Life Enrichment assessments after admission to establish an activity care plan which includes measurable goals.

Requirements: Current New York State COTA Licensure. Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience dealing with social or recreational programs. Geriatric population preferred. Must have experience in instruction and activities programming related to the aged, ill and or handicapped Must have experience in community affairs/relations with proven ability to coordinate activities and programs. Excellent and proven customer service skills with referral sources required. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
