About the role
Payroll ClerkWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our Payroll and Finance team. This fully remote position is responsible for supporting payroll operations by ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. The Payroll Clerk will process payroll information, maintain payroll records, verify employee data, assist with payroll reporting, and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable payroll regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll accurately and within established deadlines.Review employee timesheets, attendance records, and payroll documentation.Verify employee information, pay rates, deductions, and tax withholdings.Maintain accurate payroll records and employee payroll files.Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll discrepancies.Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and pay statements.Process new hire information, payroll changes, and employment status updates.Coordinate with Human Resources and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy.Assist with direct deposit setup and payroll distribution.Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and financial information.Ensure payroll activities comply with company policies and applicable employment and tax regulations.Identify and report payroll discrepancies or system issues promptly.Assist with year-end payroll reporting and payroll audits as required.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.Previous experience in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or finance is preferred.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently in a remote environment.Technical SkillsExperience with:Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office SuitePayroll software (such as ADP, Paychex, Workday, UKG, or similar)Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)Timekeeping and attendance systemsAccounting software (preferred)Working ConditionsFully remote positionReliable high-speed internet connection requiredQuiet and professional home office environmentStandard business hours with occasional overtime during payroll processing periodsWhat We OfferCompetitive salaryPerformance-based incentivesMedical, dental, and vision benefits (for eligible employees)Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidaysRetirement savings optionsEmployee wellness programsProfessional development and career advancement opportunitiesSuccess in This RoleSuccessful Payroll Clerks demonstrate exceptional accuracy, integrity, attention to detail, confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to consistently process payroll efficiently while delivering excellent internal customer service to employees and management.
