We are seeking a hybrid Senior Data Engineer to join a growing healthcare organization in the Pittsburgh area. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure behind reporting and decision making across the business, partnering with department leaders to turn data into clear, actionable insights. This position is a full time, direct hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule. This role is well suited for a data engineer who enjoys owning the full data lifecycle, from ingestion and modeling to the dashboards stakeholders use every day. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a trusted technical resource, and excited to help guide the organization's growing AI and automation efforts. Healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain cloud based data pipelines that integrate, transform, and load data from multiple sources
  • Manage and optimize data warehouse and data lake environments to keep data well structured, secure, and accessible
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that help leadership track performance and identify trends
  • Automate recurring data feeds and file deliveries for internal teams and external partners
  • Partner with department leaders and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions
  • Monitor and tune pipeline and query performance to support fast, reliable data processing
  • Establish and uphold standards for data quality, documentation, and regulatory compliance
  • Identify data issues, determine root causes, and implement lasting fixes
  • Evaluate opportunities to apply AI and automation to reporting and operational workflows
  • Mentor junior analysts and engineers and help prioritize team workload based on business needs
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
  • Experience building reports and dashboards in Power BIStrong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehouse design
  • Working knowledge of Python or a similar programming language
  • Experience mentoring or guiding other analysts or engineers
  • Must reside within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Amazon Redshift
  • Experience with ETL and integration tools such as SSIS, Informatica, or dbt
  • Experience with additional BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Qlik
  • Microsoft Azure or other cloud data engineering certification
  • Experience working with healthcare or claims data
Schedule:
  • Full time, direct hire
  • Monday through Friday, standard daytime hours, Eastern TimeHybrid schedule with on site days based on team needs and meetings
  • Reliable high speed internet and a private home workspace required for remote work
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is approximately $95,000 to $125,000 annually ($45.67 to $60.10 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
