About the role
TRUST & ESTATES PARALEGALDarrowEverett LLP is looking for a Trust & Estates / Real Estate Paralegal with immediate availability. The candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, be able to multitask without sacrificing efficiency, be responsible, and be able to represent the firm, always, in ways that enhance its reputation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Providing legal support and guidance associated with personal trust and estate administration.
Overseeing the contract process, including planning, collaboration, negotiation, and execution.
Fiduciary investment management activities, and general fiduciary law.
Research and assist with matters involving trusts, estates, guardianships, custodians, fiduciary investment management activities, powers of attorney, and legal processes.
Responsible for reviewing/updating related matrices, as well as other tasks as needed, including research of statutes and regulations; support tax matters and tax strategies.
Providing closing, title, survey and other support as needed in connection with real estate and finance transactions.
Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
Working with other members of the legal team on special projects and initiatives.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
4-7 years of paralegal experience required.
Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred; Paralegal certificate preferred.
Work independently and demonstrate flexibility to handle a wide variety of tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods and other related matters.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
