Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Second Shift Forklift Operator at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. This position will be responsible for safely and efficiently unloading/loading trucks and performing final quality check on finished product and load on trailer per customer. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will maintain daily communication with department management, team lead and other employees in the department. The position must produce product with varying cutting instructions based production requirements. The position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes. Additional responsibilities of the Forklift Operator will include: Must be forklift certified. Load trucks in proper sequence. Check loading tickets. Lockout trailers before loading and unlock once loading is complete. Use forklift to load trailers as needed. Record and track information in inventory control system. Verify trucks have been loaded properly. Move stock in loading area as necessary. Inspect trailers for damage. Run manifest and bills of lading. Handle finished bedding goods up to 75 lbs Lock out and chock wheels. Use computers to scan rolls. Ability to read and interpret a tape measure. Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED. On the job training is provided. Prior experience driving a fork lift. Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations. Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills. Basic computer knowledge. Must be forklift certified.
