ABOUT THE ROLE: Supreme Communications is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Account Director to join our team. As a Senior Account Director, you will serve as a trusted partner to our most valued clients navigating their most defining moments, lead high-performing teams, and drive measurable business outcomes in the highly competitive health IT, healthcare, biotech, and/or medtech communications landscape. Our client portfolio spans category-defining Fortune 500 leaders to fast-moving, venture backed innovators that are transforming how care is delivered, funded and experienced. Commercially minded and strategic, this person sets media and PR strategy, builds trusted relationships with media and key opinion leaders, and provides counsel that directly shapes client decisions. As a senior member of the business, the Senior Account Director also helps grow existing accounts and win new ones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact and account lead on complex accounts, setting the tone and expectations for the client relationship and team culture Lead media strategy, setting direction, pitching and securing high-profile opportunities with national media. Help prepare spokespeople for high-visibility interviews and speaking engagements Set strategic communications plans; review and edit team materials, providing direction to sharpen deliverables before they reach the client Provide strategic counsel that directly shapes client decisions; maintain deep knowledge of clients and the industry, including trends and issues affecting clients and competitors Lead metrics reporting across account objectives, translating data into PR impact and share-of-voice insights Oversee client budgets, finalize invoices for approval, and manage scope conversations Supervise, coach, and mentor account teams; delegate work and complete regular performance reviews for direct reports Write case studies and lead proposal development for new business pitches Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities within client accounts, collaborating across service lines and sister agencies to help secure and staff new work Contribute to agency-wide strategic thinking, positioning, and capabilities building Participate in staffing allocations and account projections; proactively flag budget or resourcing risks to senior leadershipREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEB.A. or B.S. in communications, PR, marketing, business administration, or a related field Minimum of 6–7 years of agency experience, or a mix of agency and in-house experience, ideally within biotech, pharma, healthtech, and/or medtech Proven ability to deliver strategic counsel and translate complex scientific or regulatory content into clear, compelling communications Mastery of media materials development and strong existing media relationships; excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong people-management skills, with a track record of coaching and developing team members Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Sound judgment for working independently and knowing when to escalate to senior leadership Contribute to team-building around AI-assisted content development, new business prospecting, and responsible use of large language models in communications This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of the responsibilities for this role.
