Role Description:
The Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL, responsible for providing a supportive and engaging classroom environment for young learners. In this role, the teacher plans and delivers daily lessons, facilitates play-based learning, and supervises children to ensure their safety and well-being. The Preschool Teacher observes and documents children’s progress, communicates regularly with families about development and classroom activities, and collaborates with colleagues to align teaching practices. Additional responsibilities include preparing classroom materials, maintaining a clean and organized learning space, and participating in staff meetings, trainings, and school events. This role also includes cleaning, and organization the classroom such as disinfecting all areas as a team member of the program Qualifications Strong foundation in early childhood education, including experience with preschool Skills in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to early learning standards Or willing to learn Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues Patience, empathy, and strong classroom management abilities Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred Relevant state teaching certification or license, or eligibility to obtain it, as required by local regulationsCPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire Gateways Required trainings Flexible to schedule occasionally Ability to meet any background check and health clearance requirements for working with children
