About the role

The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for leading cloud architecture enablement for enterprise Data Platform initiatives. This role designs and governs secure, scalable, and compliant cloud architecture patterns to support new capabilities, enhancements, and data source integrations. The architect ensures all solutions align with organizational cloud and security governance standards, with a strong focus on Azure-based Databricks platform advancements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead cloud architecture design and enablement for new data platform capabilities and enhancements. Develop and document secure, scalable Azure architecture patterns aligned with enterprise governance standards. Drive architecture strategy for new feature enablement within Azure Databricks, including: Unity Catalog suite capabilities Serverless compute Lakehouse monitoring Workflow orchestration Partner with Data Engineering, Cloud Services, and Security teams to integrate new data sources securely and efficiently.Facilitate cloud and security architecture reviews for all new platform enablements. Ensure compliance with enterprise cloud, security, data governance, and regulatory standards. Provide architectural guidance on performance optimization, cost management, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional architects (Cloud Services, GCS, Security) to align on enterprise design principles. Maintain architecture documentation including diagrams, standards, and decision records. Evaluate emerging Azure and Databricks capabilities and recommend adoption strategies.
