About the role

We are partnering with a growing construction organization in Fort Lauderdale that is looking to add a Project Accountant to its accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the financial side of projects and working closely with both accounting and operational teams.
Responsibilities: Manage project accounting from setup through completion Prepare and review project billings, invoices, and supporting documentation Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and profitability Perform job cost analysis and investigate budget-to-actual variances Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections related to assigned projects Prepare project-related journal entries and account reconciliations Assist with month-end close and financial reporting Partner with project managers to review project financial performance Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 2+ years of accounting experience; project or job-cost accounting experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of general accounting principles Experience with project-based billing, job costing, and reconciliations Strong Excel skills and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with accounting and non-accounting teams
