About the role

RETS Associates has been retained by a leading commercial real estate development firm to recruit a Senior Vice President of Leasing to lead leasing across an active pipeline of large-format, ground-up retail developments throughout the Southeast and Midwest. This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced retail leasing professional with deep relationships across national and regional retailers and a proven ability to originate demand, secure anchor commitments and drive projects from pre-leasing through opening.
Key Responsibilities: Lead pre-leasing across new ground-up retail developments, with primary responsibility for anchor and junior-anchor commitments Develop merchandising strategies and tenant mixes across anchors, junior anchors, outparcels and shop space Establish rents and leasing assumptions utilizing market intelligence, comparable transactions and retailer demand Maintain and expand relationships with national and regional retailers, brokers and key industry contacts Lead LOI and lease negotiations through execution Partner closely with development, construction and investment teams to achieve project-level leasing and capitalization objectives Represent the platform at ICSC and other industry events Ideal Background 10+ years of retail leasing experience, ideally with an owner/developer Significant experience with ground-up, anchor-driven shopping center development Demonstrated track record of executing anchor and junior-anchor transactions Established retailer and brokerage relationships across the Southeast and/or Midwest Strong understanding of retail lease economics, development underwriting and project-level decision making Entrepreneurial, relationship-driven and comfortable generating demand for projects before construction Location Nashville, TN — full-time, in-office with regular travel to project markets and industry events.
