Job Description: The Java Web Application Developer will work as part of a collaborative team to analyze, design, develop, test, and implement web-based application features and enhancements for enterprise systems. This mid-level role focuses on both backend Java/Spring development and modern web UI development using React. The developer will create high-quality, browser-based user interfaces and support application logic from requirements through deployment into a production environment, while applying object-oriented design principles, established design patterns, and agile software development practices. This is a remote role but ideal candidate is REQUIRED to be LOCAL to either Atlanta, Georgia or Jacksonville, North Carolina due to customer onsite needs that might arise.
JOB DUTIES: Design, develop, and enhance Java-based web applications using Spring and related frameworks. Implement responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using React, HTML5, and CSS3.Develop and consume RESTful web services and integrate applications with backend systems. Work with Oracle database, including schema design, queries, and data access layers. Collaborate with business stakeholders and end users to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs and implementation plans. Participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews) and contribute to continuous improvement. Apply object-oriented design and common development patterns to ensure maintainable, scalable solutions. Contribute to technology evaluations and provide input on tools, frameworks, and approaches that support business and technology goals. QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:Bachelors in Computer Science, information Systems, or a related field and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be have an Interim Secret to start Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance after start Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Java-based web applications using Spring and Spring MVC.Full-stack web development experience, including: Backend: Java, Spring-based frameworks, RESTful web services, integration with Oracle database. Frontend: React (preferred) or Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience with standard Java web technologies such as JSP/Servlets or equivalent server-side frameworks. Experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs, including JSON-based services. Strong object-oriented design skills and familiarity with common design patterns. Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including direct interaction with end users to gather and refine requirements. Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based, agile environment. Demonstrated ability to think strategically about application design and translate strategies into practical technical solutions.
DESIRED SKILLS: Experience with UI test automation tools such as Playwright or similar frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Selenium).Experience using Git-based source control systems (e.g., GitLab, GitHub).Exposure to additional JavaScript frameworks or libraries (e.g., Redux, Next.js) is a plus.
