About the role
Overview:
LMI is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Test Automation Engineerto support U.S. Army Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs at a client location. The selected candidate will lead and advance automated testing capabilities for a major Defense Business System modernization effort, working closely with Army test agencies, ERP program personnel, and the lead system integrator. This role is responsible for developing test strategies, automation frameworks, test plans, and quality practices that enable reliable, repeatable, and risk-based testing throughout the software delivery lifecycle. The position supports remote telework, with occasional travel to client offices at Fort Lee and Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and execute program-level test and evaluation plans.
Coordinate testing activities with Army test organizations, ERP program staff, functional stakeholders, and the lead system integrator.
Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, traceability artifacts, and automated test suites from business requirements, design documentation, user stories, and technical specifications.
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance scalable test automation frameworks for applications delivered in a continuous integration and continuous delivery environment.
Develop automated test scripts, reusable automation components, test data approaches, and test execution processes.
Establish and implement test automation standards, best practices, governance processes, and quality controls within an Agile and SAFe delivery environment.
Translate complex business and ERP requirements into effective, maintainable automated test scenarios.
Perform functional, regression, integration, interface, API, end-to-end, and risk-based testing as appropriate.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD/CT pipelines and promote continuous testing practices.
Analyze automation framework performance, test results, defect trends, and test coverage; identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Review test outcomes and recommend risk mitigations, corrective actions, and disposition of recurring discrepancies.
Oversee testing activities to ensure delivered products conform to established performance, quality, security, policy, and technical standards.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Mentor test team members and train functional testers in automated testing tools, processes, and best practices.
Communicate test status, quality risks, automation metrics, and technical findings clearly to program leadership, auditors, and nontechnical stakeholders.
Ensure requirements are validated and program test objectives are met across releases and deployment milestones.
Qualifications:
Required Experience and Skills Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical field.10 or more years of professional experience in software quality assurance and test automation, including test framework design, development, implementation, and sustainment. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale automated testing solutions. Expert-level knowledge of automated testing methodologies, test design techniques, test data management, regression testing, defect management, and quality assurance practices. Experience developing and maintaining automated tests within Agile software development environments. Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile delivery practices. Experience integrating test automation with CI/CD platforms and source-control tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose and communicate complex ERP, integration, and data-related defects. Ability to communicate technical concepts, testing risks, and quality findings clearly to senior leaders, auditors, functional stakeholders, and technical teams. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder Department of Defense environment. Tricentis Test Automation Expertise Significant hands-on experience with the Tricentis enterprise testing platform, with a primary emphasis onTricentis Toscafor model-based, risk-based, and end-to-end test automation. Experience designing, developing, administering, and maintaining Tosca test automation frameworksfor complex enterprise applications, including SAP and other ERP platforms. Demonstrated expertise creating reusable Tosca modules, test cases, test case design artifacts, execution lists, recovery scenarios, test data strategies, and maintainable automation assets. Experience using Tosca’s model-based test automation capabilities to automate SAP GUI, SAP Fiori, web, desktop, API, database, and interface testing. Experience implementing Tosca TestCase Designpractices, including equivalence partitioning, boundary-value analysis, combinatorial test design, and risk-based test coverage. Experience with Tricentis qTestfor test management, requirements traceability, test execution tracking, defect integration, metrics, reporting, and audit-ready test evidence. Experience integrating Tosca automated test results with qTest to provide centralized test reporting, traceability, and program-level quality metrics. Experience using Tricentis Live Compareto support SAP impact analysis, change intelligence, regression test optimization, and risk-based testing for SAP or SAP S/4HANA environments. Experience with additional Tricentis tools, as applicable, including: Tricentis NeoLoadfor performance, load, and scalability testing. Tricentis API testing, service virtualization, test data, or other platform capabilities. Experience integrating Tricentis tools with Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jira, Service Now, or comparable DevSecOps, CI/CD, and application lifecycle management platforms. Ability to establish Tricentis automation governance, naming conventions, repository standards, reusable component libraries, execution strategies, and reporting standards across multiple delivery teams. Experience leading Tricentis tool adoption, platform administration, automation center-of-excellence activities, or migration from manual testing or legacy automation tools to Tosca. Desired Tricentis Certifications CurrentTricentis Tosca Automation Specialist Level 1certification or current equivalent. Candidates with multiple current Tricentis certifications and demonstrated experience applying those capabilities in a large-scale ERP or SAP environment are strongly preferred. Additional Desired Experience Prior experience supporting GCSS-Army, AESIP Hub, LMP, GFEBS, or other U.S. Army ERP systems. Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA migration, SAP modernization, ERP transformation, or large-scale enterprise-system implementations. Experience testing SAP integrations, middleware, APIs, interfaces, data exchanges, and cross-system business processes. Experience with API testing, service virtualization, automated interface validation, and data validation. Experience integrating automated tests with Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools. Familiarity with Department of Defense testing frameworks and processes, including Developmental Test and Evaluation, Operational Test and Evaluation, Test and Evaluation Master Plans, and Army release management. Experience developing or executing automated tests for cybersecurity controls, Security Technical Implementation Guide compliance, Risk Management Framework validation, or security regression testing. Experience testing cloud-based systems, hybrid-cloud environments, or software-as-a-service platforms. Demonstrated experience implementing Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Continuous Testing practices.
