About the role
Summary:
The Equipment operator plays a crucial role in the success of winter snow removal operations. Essential tasks of the equipment operator are maintaining parking lots to bare pavement, performing general maintenance on their equipment as well as ensuring the equipment they run is ready to go at all times.
Role and Responsibilities:
Safely operate snow removal equipment, including snow plows, Wheel Loaders, salt spreaders, and other machinery, to remove snow and ice from designated areas.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment before and after shifts, ensuring all machinery is in good working condition.
Reports Time in-out, material used & Photos to Snow Assistant Captain.
Submits Pre/post storm forms to snow Assistant captain.
Reports any maintenance, damage or repairs needed with equipment.
Team player, Willing to pick up a shovel if needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience operating Tracked Compact Loaders, Wheel Loaders, Truck with plow and similar machinery.
Excellent attention to detail.
Capability to work in cold, wet, and icy conditions for long hours, sometimes during adverse weather conditions.
Flexibility to work on short notice, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
Reliable in showing up to work, particularly during critical weather situations.
