From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMDis shapingthefuture. Whetheryou'redesigning next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, orbringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger— technologythat moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we'll advance your career.
THE ROLE: Join Supply Chain Operations in Austin, TX and help bring AMD's next-generation rack-scale AI infrastructure platforms to market. As Director, Supply Chain - Rack Planning, you will own end-to-end supply planning for new rack product introductions (NPI), from early engineering builds through production ramp. You will partner with AMD Business Units, rack architects, Procurement, and rack manufacturers/system integrators to provision capacity and supply to support AMD R&D and external customers. You will own the assessment of rack demand inputs, clear-to-build (CTB) material readiness, and factory capacity and throughput, and you will serve as the central source for rack supply commitments for new platforms. THE PERSON:You are analytical and action-oriented, and you work well at pace amid the ambiguity of a fast-changing NPI design environment. You turn evolving demand signals into executable plans, align cross-functional partners, and drive closure with external manufacturers. You translate constraints into clear options for senior leaders and build high-performing teams. You have the ability to interpret complex technical inputs, including BOM structure, engineering changes, material readiness, and factory constraints, and to connect demand signals to supply plans across short-, mid-, and long-range horizons. You have a proven ability to influence cross-functional partners, suppliers, and manufacturers in a highly matrixed organization and to communicate decision-ready options and risks to VP-level leaders. Success Measures New product ramp success and on-time NPI build milestonesCTB execution and rack supply commitment accuracy On-time delivery and revenue attainment Supply and capacity readiness across ODMs and system integrators Executive stakeholder satisfactionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Next-Generation Rack NPI Supply Readiness Lead NPI supply planning for next-generation AMD rack platforms through engineering, validation, and production ramp phases. Adapt plans as engineering changes, factory cut-ins, supplier lead times, and product improvements occur. Translate Business Unit demand signals into technically executable rack-level supply plans across ODMs, system integrators, suppliers, AMD procurement, engineering, and program teams. Partner with rack architects, system engineers, BOM owners, and technical program managers early in the design cycle to resolve supply blockers through design-for-supply decisions. Use Agile BOM fluency to assess supply risk across 150+ unique part numbers, including AMD-consigned and supplier-controlled parts. Drive closure on BOM readiness, alternates, and supplier enablement, and turn Clear To Build (CTB) analyses into build priorities and escalation plans for each NPI build phase. Secure rack supply commitments from ODMs based on verified CTB and drive the allocation of constrained AMD components across internal and external NPI builds to protect revenue and program milestones.
Demand-to-Supply Planning and Factory Execution: Maintain and publish a consolidated demand-to-supply view across the S&OP horizon that connects demand, build and ship plans, CTB, factory capacity, engineering changes, and revenue risk. Compare AMD forecasts with customer order coverage and material readiness, and highlight gaps, technical constraints, and timing risks. Direct rack manufacturers and system integrators on capacity, throughput, build priorities, material shortages, test enablement, yield, and cycle time, and hold them accountable for delivering on their commitments. Coordinate simultaneous NPI ramps across multiple system integrators, and prepare planning processes for future ODM and system integrator expansion. Lead daily and weekly operating cadences to close supply gaps and align partners on recovery actions.
Planning Leadership, Governance, and Executive Decision Support: Build, lead, and develop a rack planning team and a strong talent pipeline. Own a rack planning strategy that keeps product roadmaps, capacity, and execution readiness aligned with Supply Chain priorities. Set planning parameters, KPIs, and governance forums for on-time delivery, revenue attainment, and build schedule stability. Anticipate risks

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
