About the role

REC Concession Attendant Responsible for performing duties associated with setting up, operating, and closing the concession stand at the St. Joseph REC Center. Essential duties and responsibilities include food and drink preparation and serving, receiving and filling food and beverage orders, assisting in set-up and clean-up of concession stand and the surrounding vicinity, operating cash register and accurately handling cash received and providing change for products sold, assisting in restocking concession stands when assigned by Supervisor, and assisting in enforcing rules and policies of the St. Joseph REC Center. Other duties and responsibilities include performing all other related duties as assigned. Employee behavior and conduct require professional conduct, including being communicative, informative, fair, honest, and respectful. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include availability to work irregular hours and at various intervals, including late evenings, weekends, and holidays, effective communication skills, knowledge of cash register operations, ability to deal effectively with customers in a high volume of transactions, some experience in food handling and preparation, and ability to lift objects weighing between 10 and 50 pounds. Material and equipment directly used includes a cash register, a calculator, food preparation equipment such as a coffee maker, a blender, and microwaves, and a variety of equipment for light cleaning purposes such as mops, brooms, and other general cleaning supplies. Working environment and physical requirements include standing, lifting, and other activities normally required in the performance of concession operations, frequently lifting and carrying objects weighing 10 to 50 pounds.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
