About the role
Job Description:
Under general supervision, responsible for the safe transportation of the institution's passengers within a city or industrial area.
Schedule:
May vary - primarily mornings working 5 hour shifts, 4 days per week. May be asked to work afternoons.
Responsibilities:
Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes according to a time schedule.
Transports staff and students to and from designated locations.
Maintains passenger log and all emergency equipment to include seat belts, first aid kit, and fire extinguisher.
Assists and attends to passenger's safety and comfort.
Inspects bus and reports any necessary maintenance or repairs.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Compliant and knowledgeable of all safety guidelines and applicable traffic laws.
Ability to develop and maintain defensive driving skills and operate a transit bus in a safe and efficient manner.
Strong sense of direction and a thorough knowledge of surrounding area layout and routes.
Ability to communicate in a courteous, pleasant and professional manner.
Must maintain a good driving record consistent with institutional policy.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED is required. LICENSES:Texas Commercial Driver's License (TCDL) class B is required.
Required Skills: One (1) year experience driving a passenger bus is required.
