Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist to manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs. This person will serve as a key point of contact for employees and HR while overseeing benefits enrollment, compliance, leave administration, vendor relationships, and employee communications. The role covers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, disability, wellness, and leave programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day administration of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and wellness programs. Serve as a primary contact for employee and HR questions regarding benefits, eligibility, coverage, claims, and enrollment. Manage new-hire enrollment, qualifying life-event changes, and annual open enrollment. Maintain accurate benefits records and employee elections within HRIS and benefits systems. Manage multi-state leave-of-absence programs. Ensure compliance with ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, and other applicable regulations. Support internal and external audits, including retirement plan audits. Work with benefits providers and vendors to resolve claims, eligibility, and administration issues. Manage vendor relationships and monitor service and performance. Develop employee communications regarding benefits, open enrollment, and program changes. Support benefits reporting, budgeting, and cost tracking. Assist with the review and implementation of new or updated benefit programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.7+ years of benefits administration and/or HR experience, ideally within manufacturing. Strong knowledge of health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and leave programs. Strong understanding of ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ERISA.Multi-state leave-of-absence experience highly preferred. Experience working directly with benefits vendors and providers. Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms; ADP Workforce Now or ADP Lyric is a plus. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Strong communication and employee-support skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
