EMT Hourly Skills SupportThis part-time, hourly position supports the EMT instructor on an as-needed basis, providing hands-on instruction, skill development, and reinforcement to students enrolled in the EMT program at CATEC.
Essential Job Functions: Deliver lab instruction and skill-based assessments aligned with the EMT curriculumEvaluate student performance and provide feedback to support mastery of skillsMaintain accurate documentation of student competencies and attendanceEnsure compliance with Virginia OEMS and program accreditation standardsCollaborate with the instructor to support student successExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to use instructional technologiesExcellent interpersonal and analytical skillsCurrent EMS certificationFamiliarity with the National EMS Education StandardsOther Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of EMT course content and emergency medical protocolsEffective instructional and communication skillsAbility to assess student learning and provide constructive feedbackFamiliarity with the National EMS Education Standards and VA OEMS regulationsProfessionalism and a commitment to student-centered instructionQualifications: Current EMT certification or higher for a minimum of 1 yearNational Registry EMT certification (NREMT) or higher for a minimum of 1 year1–3 years of progressive field experience in an emergency medical settingTeaching or EMS Education Coordinator experience preferredExperience working in diverse educational environmentsCurrent VA OEMS-approved CPR certificationCurrent AHA CPR Instructor preferredPhysical Demand/Requirements: Duties performed in a school setting. Must be able to respond to the unique educational, behavioral, and developmental needs of students with disabilities. Daily personal and close contact with children to provide classroom management and learning environment support is required.
