Nicolás Correa is a world-renowned manufacturer of heavy-duty, high-performance bridge mills, gantry mills, floor-type milling machines, and multifunction machining centers serving the aerospace, defense, energy, mold & die, and general manufacturing industries. As our installed machine base continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced CNC Field Service Technician to join our team. This is a full-time remote field service position requiring approximately 80% travel throughout the United States. The successful candidate will install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and commission large CNC machine tools while providing exceptional technical support to customers. This role places a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting, CNC controls, and machine diagnostics, while also requiring proficiency with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshooting CNC controls, servo drives, PLCs, motors, encoders, safety circuits, I/O systems, and industrial communication networks.- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to isolate and repair machine faults.- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machine tools.- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.- Perform preventive maintenance, machine inspections, alignments, and calibration procedures.- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical documentation.- Document service activities and communicate repair recommendations and status updates to customers and internal staff.- Deliver professional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.- Travel approximately 80% throughout the United States, with occasional international travel for factory training and technical support.
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 3 years of CNC machine tool maintenance or field service experience.- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose CNC controls, PLCs, servo drives, motors, encoders, industrial electrical systems, and communication networks.- Experience with Siemens CNC controls preferred; experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls is also desirable.- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.- Excellent communication and customer service skills.- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.- Valid driver's license.- Valid passport or the ability to obtain one.- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent technical experience.
Preferred:
Experience servicing large CNC machining centers.- Knowledge of machine geometry, calibration, and laser alignment.- PLC programming or advanced diagnostic experience.- Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required.
