About the role
Temporary On-Site Technician Position This assignment will be 12 months from when the workers start on the assignment. This will be a two headcount position. As of right now, this role is just a temporary assignment with no potential to extend or convert to an FTE. This role will require the candidate to be 100% onsite. This role will be Mon-Fri, between 8am-5pm/9am-6pm, standard working hours. There might be potential overtime in this role, but not likely. Overtime is based on manager pre-approval. No business travel required for this role.
Duties:
- Client’s Media Test Equipment team is seeking two temporary contract technicians to perform complete mechanical and electrical assembly of Media Tester systems.
- Work is fully on-site at Client Great Oaks facility in San Jose.
- Mechanical Assembly — Chassis, frames, brackets, optical mounts, linear slides, and precision motion stages per engineering drawings and BOMsWiring & Cabling — Point-to-point wiring, cable harness fabrication, routing, dressing, labeling, and connector termination per schematics
- Power Supply Installation — Mount and wire AC/DC power supplies, PDUs, and DC distribution; verify voltages with DMM before energizingPCBA & Electronics — Install PCBAs, motion controllers, and I/O modules with strict ESD compliance; make all board-level connections
- Spindle & Motion Components — Install and align spindle, stage assemblies, controllers & related amplifiers
- Optical & Sensor Components — Handle and install laser modules, detector assemblies, and optical mounts
- System Integration — Complete full system build & conduct power on, system buyoffs
Skills:
3+ years hands-on electromechanical assembly experience (capital equipment, scientific instruments, or test & measurement preferred) Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMsProficient in cable fabrication: crimping, soldering, and multi-connector termination Strong ESD handling discipline and PCBA installation experience - preferred Competent with DMM, torque wrenches, hand tools, and precision assembly techniques
Education:
High School Diploma/GED + 3+ years hands-on assembly experience (verified via references) OR Associate’s degree in related field + 2+ years assembly experience
